Ski and ski binding pioneers
The concept of the automatically releasing ski bindings, which has become indispensable in today's winter sports and has probably already saved many a sportsman from worse injuries, goes back to the French brand Salomon, whose founding family applied for a patent for their innovative system back in the 1960s. With this action, the family business, founded in 1947, became world-famous virtually overnight, because the safety binding became an important part of skiing. Salomon has thus been able to assert itself on the world market to this day and is probably one of the most famous manufacturers of sporting goods worldwide. But Salomon didn't just succeed in the winter sports sector.
Hiking and outdoor equipment
The brand from Annecy in the south of France is also engaged in the hiking and outdoor sector as well as in numerous fun sports. The wide range of products and their high quality is mainly the result of numerous innovative ideas. Thanks to the deep connection to mountain sports that has characterised Salomon since its foundation, the manufacturer has a great sense of responsibility towards nature, which is demonstrated by its comprehensive sustainability concept. Salomon is also socially committed: The Salomon Foundation, established in 1999, for example, supports athletes who get injured during their sporting career and need financial support.
